🍃 The word “Equinox” comes from Latin and means “equal night,” referring to the 12hr day & 12hr night that occurs only on the two Equinox days of the year. Supreme cosmic balance ⚖️

🍂 On the Equinox we honour this ultimate Universal balance and interaction of the Light/warmth/action/Yang energies with the Dark/cool/mysterious/Yin, and invoke a sense of gratitude for the gentle unfolding that comes with the Seasonal change.

🍃 Spend this time in mindfulness, consciously linking your awareness and the cycles of nature to your own life experiences. Where are you at?

🍂 Your inner work practices can benefit from this #ultimatebalance by working with Heaven / Earth, Sun / Moon, Yin / Yang and your pranayama practices of Sama Vritti One (equilibrated counting breath) and Sama Vritti Two (box breath).

🍃 When we clear our internal ground, we can be comfortable with silence, stillness, quietude and rest. Become quiet, listen to what is creatively emerging from within yourself 🌱

Every spiritual tradition anywhere in the world teaches the value of being present. Being present with your thoughts, to the needs of your body, to each moment, your relationship within nature, and being present with your breath.

Buddhism has many beautiful things to teach us on this topic and my

favourite peace activist is Thich Nhat Hahn.

BE HERE NOW, with LOVE

My family tease me about it but I really don’t like people being mean to each other.

And about 30 years ago, I decided that if I was going to be an effective Healer in my Community, then watching the ‘news’ was not going to be a peaceful option for me.

Once a year however I do get to see the news, when I visit my parents in Queensland. As far as I can tell, I’m still not missing anything. Murder, violence, blood shed, people being mean to each other. Infinite human suffering.

My parents just say they don’t worry about it, they don’t notice it.

Think about that.

One evening I was cooking dinner whilst they were watching. I asked them to please turn it off, because when you make food for others, you are weaving your thoughts and feelings into the very food which your loved ones are then going to digest. What are you watching or listening to as you prepare your meals? What else is your family ‘digesting’?

Have a think about that, on a global scale.

World Peace begins with you, and your family, in your home.

Subsequently all this ‘news’ watching helped me notice that I was feeling unsettled. Significantly wary and nervous in public. More tension in my body, face and jaw. I was far far away from, BE HERE NOW. I was in Story, everyone could be dangerous, and I felt very unsettled. And if I am feeling unsettled, then guaranteed other folks are as well.

Whenever you’re feeling unsettled, fearful or ungrounded, stop what you are doing, be still, come to your breath and your heart. FEEL.

Step One ~ be here now

Come into this present moment by grounding your feet, and gently lifting and lengthening your spine. Balance yourself between Heaven and Earth. Open your senses, what can you hear, taste, see, feel and smell. Senses bring us back to the moment. Learning how cultivate inner peace and stillness so that we may be an anchor for others is a gift beyond measure.

Step Two ~ anchor your breath  

Close your lips breathe in through your nose, as you breath out create a gentle sensation of hugging your windpipe to create a softly audible sigh. Notice how your sigh sounds like the ocean, or like the inside of a sea shell. The simple act of listening to your breath can become a place of refuge. Connection to breath is a soothing and intimate experience.

Step Three ~ align with your heart

The ‘news’, fear, violence and negativity will sadly always be a part of life. Learning the practice of leading the mind, breath and heart into Stories of compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, empathy, and love, helps tip the scale, helps bring balance and healing to suffering. Remind yourself that you are a Soul having an Earthly experience and that lessons and challenges will always be there. Life is more than just surviving.. its learning how to positively thrive 🌻

Did you also know that the posture of your tongue is an integral part of bringing the above 3 steps into alignment? If you are a patient of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine then you are accustomed to your practitioner asking to see your tongue so that they may discern your Pattern of Disharmony and treatment plan.

In Pranayama, tongue posture is called Jivha Mudra and and technique to stoke the lymphatics via the tongue is called Jivha Bandha.  The blogpost before this one discusses the fascinating topic of the importance of your tongue, for diagnosis according to Traditional Chinese Medicine and successful Pranayama practice!

Twelve Support the One point location video

In this short video we discuss the acupuncture points for the Twelve Support the One, Esoteric Acupuncture New Encoding Pattern & in our next video we will enjoy the Meditation with some Pranayama breathwork💫

The Twelve represents the 12 petals of your Heart Chakra ~ Anahata, while the One refers to the luminous Light of your Soul.

The most obvious difference noted whilst meditating upon this pattern was the sheer depth of Stillness. At one stage I actually felt as though I could hear the Earth moving through space, it was that profound! For me, that feeling occurred during the final phase of the sequence, the Siman Fourfold Window.

I love this pattern so much as it became a signpost for me, letting me know that my life was indeed on the right path. That overcoming my shyness & training as a meditation & breathwork teacher, after decades of healing work in private one-to-one practice as an acupuncturist, was the right thing to do.

That sharing my personal story of working with new encoding patterns combined with meditation & breathwork wasn't weird, it was a helpful & important contribution that speaks to the right people.

'What do you think your acupuncturist actually DOING during your treatment?', is one of my favourite questions to ask. This interesting topic provokes consideration (& therefore a deeper experience of), your Energetic Anatomy, your energy channels, your energy field, Chakras and how detailed, complex & incredibly miraculous you really are.

Collectively this awareness assists in raising your vibration and when you raise your individual vibration, you are also helping to raise the vibration of the Planet, making the world a much better place!

✨Celestial Tuning Fork Yin Meditation✨

The Celestial Tuning Fork Yin is an Esoteric Acupuncture New Encoding Pattern designed to align you with the energies of love and of nature, whilst attuning your own unique spiritual frequency, your signature tone.

Traditionally, New Encoding Patterns are to be installed & activated via acupuncture needles, tuning forks, swords of light or other healing tools. Earlier this year I began a meditation project showcasing one New Encoding Pattern per month across all my meditation classes and its been super helpful healing fun! So instead of needles or tools we are using the focused mind and our intention for spiritual healing and mindfulness meditation.

The project began in February 2022 with this pattern, one of my favourites, the Celestial Tuning Fork Yin. This beautiful esoteric acupuncture pattern was chosen because as your mind follows down the sequence to the lower belly points, you might find the deep stillness quite palpable and the feeling of the pattern against your body gently nurturing. This may take many attempts. Keep going, you are so worth it!

A personal story about how losing my period led to a career in the traditional healing arts..

At 26 years old I was a peace loving, rollerblading vegetarian 🌈✌️I had a massage & Reiki business in the City & I was fit, happy & healthy. By then I was married & I had been on the contraceptive pill for 12 years straight. My conscience began to suggest that, while we didn’t want babies, a break from the pill was probably a fantastic idea.

So, I stopped taking it.
